WHY GRUNGY HEART AS MY COMPANY NAME RATHER THAN MY FULL NAME?
I am a creative, and now branching out with my art into surface pattern designing, I wanted to keep with my love of both primitive and simplicity in my designs. I also want to remind myself and others that I am not perfect and some of what I create will be messy but can still be beautiful, just like the lives of each of us. We can be messy, imperfect, and yet God sees us as beautiful.
I love primitive and grungy so I create bears, dolls, a santa here or a snowman there, and quirky hearts with a primitive and grungy look. I also dye wool, create with water colors, and write stories to touch hearts. I strive to empower JOY with my creations and to spread God's love as I pray every piece I create will touch someone's heart.
With my surface pattern designs I work on simple, primitive or rustic flowers, shapes, and objects to remind me of just how wonderful art can be even with mistakes. As I improve, my work will improve but there will always be a smudge here or a crooked line there in the final piece. I look forward to sharing my work and in encouraging you to find some craft that you can also explore with JOY.
